Academic Planning Materials for 2021-2022

Overview:

Student registration for the 2021-2022 school year will take place online using the FOCUS Student Portal from January 19th to February 26th. All rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grade students who will be attending Towson High School next school year must register for their 2021-2022 classes by February 26th.

Please use the following academic planning materials to assist you in developing an appropriately challenging and rigorous schedule for the 2021-2022 school year. 
The academic planning materials include:

  • Step-by-Step directions for registering using the online FOCUS Student Portal. The LINK to the FOCUS Student Portal can be found in the step-by-step directions document.
  • Grade-level presentations to learn about courses and graduation requirements that are specific to your students’ grade level next year.
  • Grade-level course planning guides to assist in course selection.
  • Department-based presentations and handouts to acquaint you with our course offerings and course progressions.
  • Contact information for our School Counselors and Department Chairs who are available to answer any academic planning questions that you have.
  • Form to request an appointment with your counselor to discuss registration for 2021-2022.

  • School Counselors will be available for drop-in questions via Google Meet throughout the registration window during the following dates and times (start and end date TBD):
    • Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays: 8:00-9:00, 10:50-12:00, 2:00-3:00
    • Wednesdays: 8:00-9:00, 2:00-3:00
    • The Google Meet Join Code for all drop-in sessions is THSCounseling1
  • School Counselors are also available for 1-1 registration appointments. To request a 1-1 appointment with your school counselor, please complete this appointment request form
  • If there is a problem with your automatically assigned courses, please complete this course request correction form.
  • Mrs. Raley, THS 9th grade School Counselor, will be conducting virtual visits with rising 9th grade students on the following dates:
    • Dumbarton Middle School: 2/1, 2/4, 2/8, 2/11, 2/14, 2/18
    • Loch Raven Technical Academy: 2/2
    • Ridgley Middle School: TBD
